Machine Cult, the Amsterdam-based electronic music platform hosted by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe, returns with the release party for Edition Three at OT301 (Amsterdam) on 29th November.

Machine Cult’s upcoming edition will feature a V.A. compilation with tracks by Garçon Taupe (featuring Hunter Complex), Acidic Male, Loradeniz, Déandrah, and Son of Sesh. At the release party, each artist will perform a DJ set, except Déandrah, who will be creating live visuals throughout the night. Note that while Hunter Complex won’t be playing, Vergaarbak will be stepping in for a special b2b set with Garçon Taupe.

Expect a night of powerful electronic music and immersive visuals, celebrating the cutting edge of underground sounds.

‘Garçon Taupe and I have known each other for ages, especially through our shared creative efforts at Narrominded, where our musical values have often intertwined. Oddly enough, we’d never actually worked together in the studio until now. Our approaches are totally different—my studio’s all MIDI and patch bays, while Taupe connects his gear spontaneously. Rather than adapting to his way, I focused on playing synths, and Taupe took charge of the technical setup.

We set out to make an italo track, given our mutual love for the genre, but it evolved in a different direction. For Frozen Wasteland, I came up with a vocal chord pattern that sparked Taupe to lay down a beat. We added basslines, a gritty SH-101 synth line, and industrial sounds from Taupe’s Russian AVP Ritmobox. It became a distinctive blend of our styles: a wavy, ’80s industrial-electro banger.’ (Hunter Complex)
